In June 2023, a Chicago couple purchased a stunning lakefront property with a vision for a modern, contemporary transformation. Our team spent three months ensuring the partnership was the right fit, aligning on personalities and design ambitions before kicking off the project in January 2024. The existing home underwent a complete renovation, including a dramatic expansion that added 1,200 square feet and tripled the size of the primary suite. Walls were removed, rooflines were reimagined, and every detail was rebuilt from the studs out to create a truly custom retreat. Sitting on just over two acres, the property now features an enhanced outdoor living space with a new fireplace area, and the former tennis court is being converted into a half basketball court and pickleball court. Inside, the home boasts a state-of-the-art movie theater, a bar and snack area built by Tenibac Woodworks along with numerous other built-ins, a climate-controlled wine room, and a bunk room designed to sleep eight kids—every element tailored to the clients’ wish list and beyond.

The lakefront setting posed unique challenges, including erosion, sandy terrain, and pre-existing drainage issues from the original construction. Red Jasper addressed these concerns with advanced waterproofing techniques, ensuring long-term protection against moisture and mitigating future flooding risks. To maximize the breathtaking lake views, we incorporated floor-to-ceiling windows across all levels, utilizing the latest energy-efficient glass. A collapsible dining room door seamlessly connects indoor and outdoor spaces. The home’s exterior blends natural stone, fiber cement siding, and metal cladding for durability and low maintenance in a waterfront environment. The result is a thoughtfully designed, one-of-a-kind lakefront home that perfectly blends modern luxury with the natural beauty of its surroundings.
